Great Northern Books for Christmas

The Great Northern Railway Historical Society Company store is pleased to announce that it has reduced the price of selected hard cover books, has added a new book by Earl Currie, and is running a Christmas sale on all books in stock.

We have reduced the price of Great Northern Iron: James J. Hill’s 109-year Mining Trust by James A Stolpestad from $60 to $34.95, and Rocky’s Rail: A Spokane Division Trainman 1960-2004 by John Langlot from $50 to $34.95. These prices match the $34.95 of The Rusty Dusty: Great Northern’s W-O Branch by Mac McCulloch. These are all large hard cover books of 300 pages or so. Each book offers many hours of enjoyable reading.

The new to us book by Earl Currie, entitled 27 Years of Operations under C. O. Jenks is a 52 page spiral bound book with heavier paper front and back covers. Charles. O. Jenks was Vice President - Operations of the Great Northern from 1920 to 1947. The book is extracts from transcripts of interviews of Mr. Jenks by Ralph and Muriel Hidy on August 31, 1953 and July 18-21, 1954. List price is $19.95. We have only 10 of these, so act fast!
